Project Crew Member

Miami Conservancy District (MCD) is seeking a motivated and hard-working individual to join our team as a Project Crew Member.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Constructs, maintains, and inspects MCD’s flood protection dams, levees, embankments, assigned lands, structures, and facilities. Operates construction and maintenance equipment such as a skid steer, bulldozer, track hoe, and backhoe for demolishing structures, moving and distributing earth, lifting and loading materials, and other maintenance and construction operations. Transports equipment to and from job sites.

Performs full range of building and facilities construction, maintenance, and repair.  May include concrete construction and finishing, metal fabrication, carpentry, electrical and plumbing repairs and installations.

Keeps accurate records and submits timely reports. Subject to infrequent 24-hour call out.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

The qualified candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and three years related experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience. Must have experience operating heavy construction equipment, general hand and power tools, and currently possess a Class A Commercial Driver’s License. Ability to perform basic plumbing and electrical work is a plus.
