Engineering Associate – Analysis

Miami Conservancy District (MCD) is seeking an engineering associate to join our technical and engineering analysis team!


Monitors, collects, maps, and/or analyzes data related to water resource analyses and flood protection infrastructure including, but not limited to: channels, dam concrete walls, floodwalls, levees, pump stations, and/or relief wells. Gathers and enters piezometer and well data information into MCD’s water information database, Aquarius. Performs GIS analysis for levee and pool level mapping and retarding basin capacity.

Performs engineering analysis while reviewing engineering reports created by consultants or others. Assists with completion of regulatory permit applications and/or grant applications. Prepares materials and may represent MCD at various meetings. Provides information and answers questions regarding projects.


The qualified candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar discipline, or an associate’s degree and two years of experience. Experience with GIS, data collection and analysis, Microsoft Office, and strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. Understanding of hydrology and hydraulics, surveying, and/or database management is a plus. Candidate should be detail-oriented and organized.
