Assistant Caretaker
Miami Conservancy District (MCD) is seeking an ambitious and energetic individual to join our team as an Assistant Caretaker.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists with maintaining the flood protection dams, levees, embankments, assigned lands, structures and facilities by mowing; trimming vegetation, hedges and trees; removing vegetation; applying herbicides; removing trash and debris; and performing necessary repairs. Monitors and reports rainfall, river stages and monitoring wells. Operates and maintains tractors, mowers, hand and power tools, and other equipment.
Keeps accurate records and submits timely reports. Subject to infrequent 24 hour call out.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
The qualified candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and one year related experience. Must have valid driver’s license.
