MCD seeks GIS/Engineering Technician
MCD is seeking a talented GIS/Engineering Technician to join our team.
Creates maps and enters data into geographic information systems (GIS) databases or applications. Reads and interprets maps, manipulates and understands digital datasets entered into a GIS database. Converts data collected from field operations into GIS database with proper and accurate spatial location.
Assists engineering and technical staff with projects, plans, and analysis. Prepares materials and may represent MCD at public meetings and hearings; interact with the public and answer questions regarding projects or maps.
The qualified candidate will have an associate’s degree in a related field. Experience with GIS is a must. Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is a plus. Candidate must have good attention to detail in order to enter GIS data and organize technical data in a database. Must have good written and oral communication skills for creating and presenting data reports and training other people how to use GIS technology.
