MCD seeking Hydro Technician

MCD is seeking an energetic and passionate, water-focused professional to take on the role of Hydro Technician. If you fit this description, we want to talk with you.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Candidate will collect and accurately maintain records of water quantity and quality data used by MCD and partner organizations. Data is entered into electronic databases for analysis and reporting.

Some of the water monitoring activities performed by this position includes measuring groundwater levels, conducting stream flow measurements, measuring precipitation and collecting water samples for laboratory testing.

Other responsibilities include installing, operating, and maintaining water resource monitoring equipment. Candidate must be able to locate sample sites using GPS technology.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an associate’s degree in a related field and two years related experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience. Qualified applicants should have experience in collecting groundwater samples and measuring stream flow. Attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and a safe driving record are a must. Surveying experience, application development and/or competency in small repairs or maintenance work would be a plus.
