Bike trail detour in downtown Dayton

A small section of the Great Miami River Bike Trail in Dayton will be closed for about a month beginning Monday, Aug. 14. Repairs are being made to concrete slope protection (revetment) and retaining walls along the west side of the trail downstream of Monument Avenue to First Street.

To detour around the work, use the bike stairs at Wolf Creek near the Edwin C. Moses Bridge/Sunrise Park area to come out of the river channel to the sidewalk or street. Proceed along Edwin C. Moses to Riverview Drive, then access the trail again via a bike stair near the double swinging benches, just as you pass under I-75 and enter the McPherson Town neighborhood. The detour length is less than a mile long.

Please be cautious. Heavy equipment will be accessing the trail during construction.
