August precipitation below average
For the second month in a row, the Great Miami River Watershed received below-average precipitation. August brought an average of 2.53 inches of precipitation to the watershed. That’s 0.56 inches below average for the month. The high station was Collinsville (5.87 inches), and the low station was the Springfield Wastewater Treatment Plant (1.01 inches). As of August 31, the watershed had received nearly 36 inches of precipitation in 2019. That’s nearly 7.8 inches above average for this point in the calendar year.
