Have your well water tested for nitrate, nitrite and iron for FREE at the Test Your Well event on Thursday, May 18, from 4:30 to 6:30 at Carlisle High School, 250 Jamaica Road in Carlisle. The first 40 RSVPs are guaranteed free copper, lead and arsenic testing, too.

February delivered an average of 1.53 inches of precipitation to the Great Miami River Watershed0.71 inches below the monthly average. The high station was Lakeview (2.34 inches), and the low station was Urbana (0.75 inches). As of February 28, the Great Miami River Watershed had received 4.99 inches of precipitation in 2017 which is 0.06 inches above average for this point in the calendar year.

Upcoming events on MCD-controlled property

Be the Match 5K/10 will be held at Eastwood MetroPark on Saturday, March 25, at 9 a.m. More information.

Sinclair Community College will hold its 5K Hunger Walk/Run Thursday, March 30, from 4 to 5 p.m. along the Great Miami River bikeway.

Bowling Green State University's Bike for Tikes event will be held along the Great Miami River Bikeway on Friday, April 7. BGSU students will ride on the trail from Franklin to Troy.

The Junior League of Dayton's 5k/10k Run for the Health of It wil be held on Saturday, April 22, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at RiverScape MetroPark.

Equitas Health 2017 AIDS Walk Greater Dayton is set for Saturday, April 22, beginning at 10 a.m. at Fifth Third Plaza in downtown Dayton.
